Welcome to March everyone, spring is in the air, but it still feels pretty cold!
Do you happen to feel stiff and are your shoulders & neck tight these days? If yes, I have a quick & efficient solution for you to try out in the comfort of your own home:
First of all you need to find a table with a suitable height for your back to stretch in a straight position and then lean forward.
Grip your elbows so your thumbs are on the inside of your elbows and the other 4 fingers on the outside. Place your forehead on the upper wrist and adjust the distance to the table so your legs stand virtical so your whole body will be in a kind of “box shape”.
Level 1
This is level 1, the basic posture. The aim is to lengthen your spine and stretch your back to be as horizontal as possible. This position is soothing to your central nervous system, so you will quickly recharge and feel good, and you can stay as long as you like! Exhale completely and let go!
Level 2
If you feel like stretching a bit further, try level 2, which is more intense for your chest, neck & lungs: Keep holding on to your elbows resting on the table, but now let your head slowly go through and down below the arms, so it hangs freely and stretches under the height of the table. Keep breathing slowly & deeply.
Enjoy! Come out slowly. Take your time to adjust to standing up again.
