Spice is Nice... Viva Forever

Oh happy days... 'Girl Power' was one of the best things to come out of the 90s. The new all girl female band called the Spice Girls became a phenomenon that changed the look and feel of the music industry. As one of very few female Dj's, for me every performance was full of excitement. We had something very special and it had been created in the UK.

The Spice Girls, not only influenced the music scene in the UK but they took the world by storm. It wasn't just music that they revolutionised but also the fashion industry took a whole new direction. And as for girls and women worldwide... a new assertive attitude and confidence was born.

The Spice Girls, were five girls called:  Scary Spice - Melanie Brown, Sporty Spice - Melanie Chisholm, Baby Spice - Emma Bunton, Ginger Spice - Geri Halliwell and Posh Spice - Victoria Adams (now Beckham).

Sixteen years after they were first formed, the Spice Girls are back in the form of a musical called Viva Forever in the West End at the Piccadilly Theatre, London. The production features the songs recorded by the Spice Girls. The show was written by writer, actress, comedienne Jennifer Saunders and created and produced by Judy Craymer.

The show is exhilarating, fun, upbeat and will definitely leave you with that feel good factor. One girl follows her passions and dreams and through determination, she finds success and if that isn't 'Girl Power', I don't know what is...

Here we go with the number one single 'Say You'll Be There' released in October 1996 and reached number one in the UK music charts.
