Fit For A Princess

CharleneAkrisAkris was the order of the day for the future Princess of Monaco, Miss Charlene Wittstock, as she attended the Royal Wedding of William and Kate in London, only months ahead of her own wedding.

The clear shapes and simple lines which are the fundamental basics of the Akris collection complimented Charlene well. She wore a light gray double face coat & dress ensemble-hat, clutch & gloves.

Akris is now in their third generation. The collection is created twice a year exclusively at their workshop in Switzerland. The attention to detail is foremost and so much is actually done by hand. It can take two days to complete a jacket. The trained tailors believe in perfection - a true attribute to craftsmanship. Their unique style in creating invisible seams, is one of the features that gives Akris its identity, allowing you to wear the garment inside out.

Akris produces its own fabrics and in every collection you will see their famous polka-dot design appear somewhere in the range.

Akris was founded in 1922 by Alice Kriemler-Schoch who started with one machine designing and making polka dot aprons. Her initials form the company name: A-Kri-S
