An Interview with... Sandrine Martin

Sandrine Martin is one of the two President of the Professional Women's Network Nice-Côte d'Azur, sharing the position with Sandra Richez and Sandrine also holds the title of treasurer within the organisation.

Sandrine is French and has 17 years experience in green business in France. Sandrine started her career in Quality, Security and Environmental Systems, and is currently the Managing Director of BOTANICA a Landscape Company.

To achieve this she occupied various positions of increasing responsibility as Quality Manager and obtained the Honour of Quality Excellence from EFQM in 2009. Then as Operations and Finance Manager, Chief of Operation, she participated in financial projects of new business start-ups, M&A and fund raising. In 2017, BOTANICA won the National Award for "Prix de l’Excellence Opérationnelle".

An Executive demonstrating success in managing relationships, managing a team, goal achievement, operational proficiency and integrity, Sandrine is accustomed to and effective in high-profile executive roles and capable of taking decisions. She is recognised for her ability to incorporate innovative management techniques that result in enhanced business practices, increased productivity, and profits. She values and rewards creative thinking, initiative, teamwork, commitment, and performance. Sandrine is a doer!

Sandrine is a graduate from the Polytech Electronics School and holds an MS in Project Management and a BA in Economics and Management.

Sandrine is particularly involved in HR and sustainable development projects and situations of a humanitarian nature are of great interest to her. She likes sport, leads a healthy lifestyle and runs marathons.

Sandrine's work ethics has not gone unnoticed and she has been entered into La Trophée “Femmes de l’Economie” which is a nation-wide event. So far, Sandrine has entered the regional competition, and if she makes the nomination, she will then join the national competition in France.

NEWS! Sandrine has now been voted as one of the finalists!

How and why did you become involved with the PWN?

Sandrine: PWN is an international association where many women with different backgrounds meet and share their experiences and knowledge. I think it’s very important to invest and create dynamic teams to help women advance in their careers. This is something I have been doing with all PWN members since 2014.

In your opinion what is the advantage of gender equality in the workplace?

Sandrine: I work in a masculine and technical company and I am very supportive of an equal and balanced workplace and believe that this brings a great deal of benefits to everyone. Progress in progress is very encouraging. And it's not the laws that will change this situation of gender equality... we must work towards changing people's mentality and approach to the issue.

We also asked Sandrine our famous 5 questions and this is how she replied:

1) What makes you smile?

To see people happy…

2) What or who inspires you?

Everything has a way of inspiring me... a speech, a piece of music, an image, an encounter... and especially my dreams!

3) Do you believe in gut instincts?

Yes of course…instinct and intuition.

4) Your three essential things if you were stuck on a desert island would be what?

I could never be stuck on a desert island… except if I was on a yoga retreat!

5) If you are planning a day/night out, what do you enjoy doing the most?

I enjoy a day that is intense where I can be useful and do what I can to help our environment/planet.
