Doggy Outings

...Making dog training fun, fun, fun...

10 GOOD REASONS WHY THIS OUTING WAS SO USEFUL FOR MY CLIENTS AND THEIR DOGS

  • Another great location for the ‘Doggy Club Group 2’. We are back at a favourite location! The park!!  Hey it’s Easter yeh!!! HAPPY EASTER EVERYONE!!

  • The session starts with a little practice with heelwork in a lovely village followed by a delicious coffee and a good ‘chin wag’ so everyone can catch up with each other’s news and all the dogs are so happy to see their pals too!!

  • Next I take the group to the park and at the park clients start to learn an obstacle course! Clients and their dogs re-visit their tunnel training, which all the dogs love!! We also cover ‘hoop’ and the agility jump! Next clients and their dogs practice slalom with the cones and then everyone has great fun learning how to master all the elements in the obstacle course!!

  • We have beautiful weather for the class this week and everyone enjoys the sunshine whilst running around the agility/obstacle course!

  • The games then begin and clients and their dogs have fun winning prizes, there are an array of prizes this week, EASTER EGGS (oh go on, why not it’s Easter..’), toys, dog bowls and much more! Some of the games included, just to name a few, who can complete the most hoop behaviours with their dog in 20 seconds and who can do the most ‘twist’ behaviours with their dog in 20 seconds.

  • Sidney, the absolutely gorgeous Portuguese Podengo we have in the doggy club and his lovely owner do a fantastic job and win the Easter eggs (of course these are just for Sidney’s Mum as human chocolate is poisonous for doggies as it contains an ingredient called Theo- Bromine and shouldn’t be given to dogs as it is dangerous – Please check with your vet regarding this if you have any questions). Sidney and his owner very kindly offer everyone an Easter egg, so these are shared out to the group and everyone enjoys eating their yummy little Easter eggs!!

  • This week we cover a new behaviour called ‘Station’ where clients train their dog to come into position on their left side in a ‘sit’ behaviour.

  • Clients practice getting around the course one by one as I arrange everyone in a line and each client follows the other. Everyone cheers each other on!!

  • Clients are learning to have fun with their dogs whilst practicing to develop their dog’s attention/focus around distractions, for example dogs and other owners stopping to watch our class, picnickers, cyclists, roller- bladers, walkers, joggers, people playing football etc.
  • Everyone congratulates themselves on a good morning’s training!! Everyone has done really so well!! Each week clients and their dogs are progressing and it is fantastic as a trainer to see my clients and their dogs accomplishing so much each week!!
