I have always considered my office to be the world's stage and everyone I meet plays a part in influencing my day, stimulating my mind and feeding my creative urges. I have spent hours and in fact years, listening and talking to women from all over the globe. I can honestly say that I have been totally in awe with the wonderful women I have met because of The Riviera Woman. It is good to see women living out their passions and embracing opportunities in a caring sharing way. In return, all I ever wanted to do, was give women a voice, no matter how small, and an opportunity to reach out and find like-minded people, and to capture and record moments that would normally slip by unnoticed.
There is no doubt in my mind that The Riviera Woman journey, so to speak has been a great deal of fun and so worth while but I cannot deny, it has had it's fair share of challenges and obstacles to overcome. In fact at times I have questioned myself as to why I spend endless hours uploading, downloading, linking, tweaking this bit and that bit... I came to the conclusion that it was simply because 'I care'.
I was most surprised to see in my 'inbox' an email asking whether I would be available to do a video interview with Ms. Claudia Potamkin of GenConnect, during the Monaco Yacht Show. The email read '...genConnect.com, as official press at this year's premier boating and yachting event, is conducting short video interviews with the world-class experts and attendees.' I really had to check to see if the email had been sent to me in error... For the past few years, I have run around the yacht show in search of interesting women in the yachting industry to interview, so it was quite acceptable that I should have this surprised reaction to find that the tables had turned and I was given the opportunity to talk about The Riviera Woman and the women it represents.
I found Claudia, to be charming, attentive and very engaging as the interviewer. Her team also shared the same professionalism and enthusiasm... all female I must add. I could not help but chuckle to myself that even in this situation, The Riviera Woman was meeting new Riviera Women. I hope those I have had the pleasure to interview felt that I was equally professional. I'm not fishing... honestly!
I shall look forward to seeing the final cut and take the opportunity of sharing the video experience on these web pages. (See above)
