PICASSO RETURNS TO HIS FIRST LOVE, THE COTE D’AZUR
The Picasso summer exhibition at the Grimaldi Forum in Monaco, was made possible by the collaboration of the brothers Ezra and David Nahmad, to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the famous artist’s disappearance. The first part, entitled « Picasso in the Cote d’Azur », includes the master’s works from 1920 through 1946 when he lived and worked in the region. Picasso discovered Monaco in 1925 when he came with his wife Olga who was a dancer, by invitation from Serge Diaghilev to join him at a performance of the Russian Ballet. A series of photos by Edward Quinn give a glimpse of the life of Picasso in the Mediterranean. The second section of the exhibit includes the 101 pieces lent by the Nahmad’s from their remarkable and extensive private collection. It is really worth a visit!
This unique exhibition is open everyday until September 15, from 10 :00 till 20 :00 hs, and until 22 :00 on Thursdays
