Sarah Bartlett

It is quite strange when you try and reflect on how you come to meet various people in your life. This is how I met Sarah Bartlett.

I had the idea for The Riviera Woman for quite some time and throughout most of 2007, I began to develop in my mind what the website should be about. Yes, its title refers to women... did I mean to feature just women or was The Riviera Woman about me? In truth, in the beginning I did not know how and where I would go. All I knew, was that I wanted to develop a place for mainly women, to feel that they could connect and relate to other women living on The Riviera in both Italy and France.

My intention was never to exclude men, but to involve them with the understanding that women will relate to anyone that is compassionate and thoughtful and had an understanding of treating individuals as just that... individuals and that ones sex played no prejudicial part in a professional society.

Geography also played a great part in the development of the site. Women, my focal point, were spread so far and wide and I believed that a neutral zone could bond us all together. My father used to always say to me: People need people. I have come to learn that more so: Women need women.

My quest to find women to feature on my website began. Without any doubt, I have to thank Angloinfo for the opportunities that arose. I was looking at a posting of how a woman had recently arrived to the Riviera and how she felt a little alone and wanted to make friends. I was in no way influenced enough or indeed experienced enough to offer advise and simple help. What did attract me was one little reply from a lady saying that she worked from home and would gladly meet up for a coffee... I was thrilled to read that someone was prepared to make the effort and find the time to share with a stranger in need but what intrigued me more was the fact that she said she worked from home and I wanted to know more. How I thank the great beings that I did. It was 11th February 2008 and Sarah replied to my little email, where I explained that I had just started The Riviera Woman, which I didn't plan to launch until the Spring and because the Google search engines had found me, I started to promote it earlier. To my surprise and great delight, Sarah told me that she was an astrologer and writer and in return for promotion, she would like to do a monthly horoscope. I could not believe it... I had just been thinking of doing a section on the site for just that... Was it in the Stars? It makes me wonder. Every month since March, Sarah has had the Horoscopes printed in The Riviera Woman. Don't forget to check the new ones for January 2009 which are out now!

From the first moment I was in touch with Sarah, she has been busy writing books with tight deadlines to meet and always found time for little me and The Riviera Woman. You will always be able to see her books on the Amazon website or on her own website which you can link to through her Horoscope page on The Riviera Woman. Sarah's best selling book is 'The Tarot Bible' which is currently available and her two new books 'The 'Mythology Bible' and 'Working with the Tarot' will be published Summer 2009, all by Gosfield Press/Hamlyn.

So what is in the stars for The Riviera Woman? I see a constellation of wonderful brilliant women that are coming together and who are full of inspiration and passion and who all deserve being called The Riviera Woman.
