Michela Crisostomi - Frammenti Di Bellezza
Friday 25th November was a day dedicated to raising awareness to women who have been victims of domestic violence. A special helpline is available for anyone that needs help: 115
The striking unassuming Italian artist Michela Crisostomi was well received at the Carré Doré art gallery in Monaco. Her artwork titled 'Frammenti Di Bellezza' - 'Fragments Of Beauty' spoke in a three dimensional way. The paintings oozed sensuality and grace, giving way to the question that the women may appear sad. The form of woman is idealistic, contemporary and absolutely breathtaking and in fact reflected a proud sense of 'I am'.
It is almost impossible to resist touching and caressing the canvas. Michela uses layers of acrylic putties and then scratches the surface. The figures are created by using an acrylic brush and toothbrush.
Many thanks to Baroness Cécile de Massy and the Italian Embassy in Monaco for giving us an insight into the feminine world of Michela Crisostomi.
