At the Skema Business School in Sophia Antipolis on Tuesday 9th November there was certainly a positive air of collaboration and a meeting of minds. This particular event, organised by the European Professional Women's Network (EPWN) and Riviera Business Club (RBC), was the brainchild of Dorothy Foster, Vice President of the local Nice branch of EPWN. The Riviera Woman was there to capture the evening's proceedings.

The EPWN is an organisation that reaches out to entrepreneurial and empowering women, who can contribute their skills and benefit from those of others in the network. Julia Haston, President of the EPWN Nice, is confident of the importance of being part of such a network, passionate to see women grow their businesses and determined to provide as much help as is needed.

The highlight of the evening was the visit by entrepreneur, writer and motivational speaker Rachel Elnaugh, who gave a talk about 'The Entrepreneurial Roller-Coaster'. Rachel speaks from great experience. The one time owner of the multi million pound business Red Letter Days knows exactly how it feels to lose everything. Although the business went into a £4.7 million loss, the former Lady Dragon of the cult BBC show Dragon's Den was able to use her experience and network to find a new direction and new heights. Her talk accentuates the power of the mind and the will to succeed, by embracing positive energy and a can-do attitude about the necessity of collaboration. Among her key messages are 'Don't give up', 'Ask for help' and to surround yourself with positive people.

You can see a full personal interview of Rachel Elnaugh talking to Anna Fill of The Riviera Woman in the Anna Fill Interviews, HERE.
