Artist Of The Month - Maria Pia Luly Jones
Maria Pia Luly Jones has returned to her painting with a passion. In former days, after completed her artistic studies, Maria Pia worked as a designer for textiles in Nice. She is naturally drawn to painting flowers and plants, owing to her love of nature, the palatte of beautiful colours and hues that are so evocative of the region. Maria Pia takes inspiration from everything around her.
Maria Pia chose the Bickenell Museum to hold her first exhibition which pays tribute to the botanist Clarence Bicknell who for years collected and drew flowers in the valleys close to Bordighera.
We have chosen 4 of our favourites and an additional one to show the piece taking form... wonderful!

On Saturday 24th 2016, Maria Pia donated one of her floral designs 'Semplicita' to the Riviera dei Fiori - World Peace Meditation event, symbolic of this beautiful region and also as a symbol of peace.
