Top Dog
For those who know me, it came as quite a surprise, err shock even, when I announced the arrival of 1 year old Buffy! Buffy is our little dog and we believe she is a pinscher cross, and although we do not know what she was crossed with, she has the most beautiful features. She has fabulous floppy ears that wave around in the breeze and beautiful big brown eyes that twinkle. To be honest, I never wanted a dog and I definitely could not see myself performing the twice daily ritual of dog walking! I would pinch myself saying: 'How the hell did we end up with a dog?' But now... boy oh boy... I just can't imagine a life without her. In fact it is quite difficult to separate us! Most of the time, where we go-eth, Buffy go-eth. So now it only seemed fitting on her 3rd birthday and her 2 years with us, 2 years of total mayhem and disruption I have to admit, we should reward Buffy with her very own Facebook Page: Buffy Universe. I can tell you that Buffy was not impressed at all and it is obvious that she would actually prefer to have a bone!
Buffy is absolutely wonderful and she has taught me a way of life that I never knew I was missing... She is loyal and it has nothing to do wth the fact that because of me she has become quite a connoisseur of Gorgonzola Cheese! No, she has taught me to step back and value the good things in life and the difference between the things that matter and the things that don't. Buffy knows when I am feeling happy and sad and she so often curls up by my side even when the thermometer is screaming 35°C convinced that I would feel better with her there, and as it goes, she is so very right. She knows!
One of the best things about having Buffy is that she doesn't care for anything pretentious. She doesn't care if I am wearing Prada or Primark, or if my shoes and handbag match, or if my hair is out of place. Her love is unconditional, and her friendship honest. I could not wish for a truer friend! And together with my 2 wonderful fluffy pussy cats, and a great bunch of human friends, what more could a girl want!
Welcome to September!
